Silent Witness

As you may know, dear reader, I often accuse Kitty of not pulling her weight around the house. She always seems to be either lounging around on her velvet cushion or sitting on the sofa biting my arm and watching reruns of "Silent Witness" (we love Amanda Burton, even watched the same episode twice in one evening this week - once in English and once in French). But it's all an act. Because this evening, when I returned home, I spotted what looked like a dried-up leaf on the floor and bent down to pick it up, only to discover that it wasn't a dried-up leaf at all but a dessicated mouse!! Just like Professor Sam Ryan, I donned my surgical mask (any excuse!) and carried out a thorough post-mortem. From the absence of any head and the crushed backbone, I determined that the cause of the death was probably "being played around with for a long time before being half-eaten some 12 hours previously". I didn't feel it necessary to call anyone in to identify the body. I just wrapped it in a paper towel and threw it in the bins downstairs. I did feel very proud of Kitty though. Didn't know she had it in her. Jolly good show and extra croquettes all round for dinner.

Your kitty is a killer! You should be careful at night, she may try to steal your soul!

Maybe she left the poor mouse for you, as a present? When I was a child my kitty once left a dead mouse on my pillow waiting for me.

When I think of all these long preachy talks you've had with Miss K throughout the years: Miss K, you should work a little, Miss K you should clean the house, Miss K catch some mice etc... all of these years of silent suffering for poor miss K. While in fact she just kept on cleaning the house while you're away. Put on her little apron on as soon as you walked out the door and started jumping around. When she kills, I picture her putting on her little ninja outfit and start chasing mice. You were not even thankful, and of course you need the evidence to believe her. Cruel, cruel dad!

Funny you should say that Micke. I found a small Ninja outfit in the cupboard the other day and couldn't THINK who it belonged to - now I know!!

p.s - I hope you don't find the head somewhere else cause that would be freaky to just find a small head!!!! Ugh! :-S

Ha!! I know, Sis. I checked everywhere I could think of, even got the torch out, but couldn't see anything... Fingers crossed...

Poor deprived kitty!

On a different note, did you know that you can watch 'A Line of Beauty' free on broadbrand? Just watched the second episode and heard that it should be online too but, on checking, can only find episode 1. Perhaps it will be available later.

Go here

Second episode is there now. Next week is the final episode.

Thanks Nomad, I went straight over there to check it out but unfortunately you can't access material on the BBC Broadband sites from outside the U.K. :( But just looking at the website has whetted my appetite - I can't wait... I shall keep a close eye on Amazon...

I give Miss Kitty kudos. Bitches like us do it in the dark and we let you believe that we are nonexistent, and of no use but we have our purpose in life and it's best done in the dark of night, quietly, without pomp and circumstance. We are one and the same, Miss Kitty and I.
How is my dear patient BTW?
