Rhino's Bulging Christmas Stockings

...ok, strictly speaking they're tights, but you get the idea. It's not quite the night before Christmas, but it is my last night in Paris before heading to England for the holidays. And what better way to spend it than with these gentlemen? I saw Matthew Bourne's "Swan Lake" 10 years ago when it premiered in London and I can't believe that it's taken all this time for it to arrive in Paris! To see his take on the classic tale, click on the pic and scroll down. But I think you can get the basic (ahem!) idea from looking at the *all-male* (hint) flock of swans opposite. I'm so excited about it!!! In case you haven't guessed, I'm one of those people who has what my sis calls "the Christmas gene," for me it's the most magical time of year, I love everything about it, my tree, the lights, the crowds, and especially this guy. So if I don't get time before the big day, I'd like to wish everyone a very, very happy holiday/joyeux noël. May all our wishes come true!!

Gosh, it seems that everyone in the family shares the drinking gene!?

Joyeux Noël my dear, have a great trip et je te souhaite plein de bonnes choses, de gros cadeaux, très chers, très chics et très bien membrés.

That's north Europeans for you, Micke. Though I trust you'll be having your annual glass of cooking sherry to celebrate? Go on, live a little!! Pour le reste, un grand merci et meilleurs voeux to you and yours.

Yes the propensity to drink copious amounts is definitely 'genetic' - or is it learned behaviour??!! Rhino's the eldest so it's entirely his fault!! ;-) We used to also share the 'smoking' and 'inability to be tidy' gene but Rhino is making me look bad by giving up the cigs and transforming into a domestic god!!! Tsk!! ;-) XX

Never attack a rhino's family, that's for sure!:-o In the Rhino family, I'll pick the sister. She sounds cool. Elle!;-)

What an excellent judge or character you are Mickelino!! ;-D Happy Xmas!! i would say something in French but all I know is 'Je voudrais deux pain au chocolat s'il vous plait!??!! Rhino got the languages gene!! :-( XX

Frog with a Blog said...

Is that supposed to be a metaphor Sis?

Anonymous said...

Ha!!! No sadly that really is just the extent of my french language ability!!! :-O

rhino75 said...

LOL, no sis, I think Micke means is the "language gene" a metaphor, like being "artistic" or "musical" (ooh the word verification for this comment starts with TED!!)

I'm coming to mums at lunchtime on Saturday so see you then 2 kick off the proceedings!!! Loads a luv to you and my 'neice'(the glamourous Miss K!!!) XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I don't understand what any of you are going on about! Je ne comprends pas! Metaphors?! Word verification?! It's all getting a bit intellectual here! My mind is instead focussed on pulling out my best moves for Saturday night... I hope they play a cheesetastic mix of chedd. See ya then Steve, and don't foget to limber up everyone - it is deceptively high-impact and we don't want any injuries xx

You lot lost me ages ago. I'm leaving the office soon so that I can catch two buses and a train back to Nottingham...what a bloody schlep! So, it's unlikely I'll get to say too much before rhino barges back to England. Have a good trip, enjoy drinking with sis again, enjoy drinking with all the others and have a generally great time.

I'm looking for some mistletoe now so that we can stand under it and kiss chastely...none to be found so here's a not-so-chaste kiss.

*mwah*

*mistletoe* to you all!

Su, be very afraid, I've had extensive training in the "Get Together Spin" from Nick! Sis, I'll get to Mum's late tomorrow night (am working right up to the bell *sniff*), see you on Saturday. Nomad, *mwah* back at you, say hello to Nottingham from me and don't pine too much for SA, though I know it must be tough to be so far away. And *misletoe* back to Micke. (I feel like I'm setting off on an epîc journey - I'll be back in Paris in less than a week!!)

...And, by the way, it was TOTALLY fab!!

Reluctant Nomad said...

I am confusing myself...you are still in frog land today.

That good was it?

rhino75 said...

Hello!! Yup, still here until 7 p.m. this evening. It was excellent, I thought that the first time but this time I enjoyed it even more. A top Christmassy treat (there's that gene again :))

Reluctant Nomad said...

It's good to treat oneself every now and again - as long as you remember to treat others too!

Where in England will you be? Why do you know Nottingham? And when/why did you move to Paris?

rhino75 said...

So many questions!! I'll be down on the south coast, but I know Nottingham because my father lives near there (he lives in a village called East Bridgford). And I was sent to France in 1998 (gulp!) for work and just ended up staying, and here I am - in *showbiz*.

Frog with a Blog said...

Nomad you should change your nickname to NoseyMad instead! I think you guys should meet!

rhino75 said...

Hej Micke!!

Reluctant Nomad said...

rhino: thank you for being so patient with me and answering all my nosey questions! :-)

mickelino: don't tell me you subscribe to that English disease of not asking questions because it's 'nosey'! Remember, I'm just another fucking foreigner here who knows nowt about English customs so I ask questions. And I expect answers!!

rhino75 said...

Awww, that's alright Nomad, that's not privileged information!! Perfectly reasonable questions, if you ask me. And Micke knows my life story!!

Frog with a Blog said...

and you're so right Nomad, I love a man who asks questions, so rare these days. But it is just so hard to ask and answer questions on a blog like that, but if Rhino doesn't do it I can answer all sorts of questions about him!

Tjena Rhino! ;-)

rhino75 said...

oooh, you mean like an official spokesman?? Do you REALLY think I'd let you do that? Imagine the trouble in which I could find myself!! Bjäller klang, bjäller klang...

Reluctant Nomad said...

Ok, seems like I'll carry on in this fashion and when rhino gets a bit coy about something, I'll turn to le frog weeth ze blog for further answers. But, can I turn to rhino when mickelino gets coy about things I ask him?
