Bastille Day

Bastille Day: Fireworks, originally uploaded by rhino75.

This pic doesn't really do them justice, but I spent the evening of July 14 watching fireworks at my friend Daniel's. He's lucky enough to have an top-floor apartment with a terrace overlooking most of Paris -- which meant we got to see five different firework displays from different parts of Paris, instead of just one. While sipping champagne, natch. I do like fireworks. And champagne. But I fear my love for gay karaoke may be on the wane. Yes, we were there again on Friday night, until 4:30 a.m. Three Canadians, a U.S. citizen, two Brits and three Mexicans from Lausanne - quite a posse really, but it was missing something...

how about the terrible selection of music. I don't know if I could go there unless they get more than just weepy French songs and Dire Straits on the menu.

Glad you had a good weekend!

ahem, I think you mean "I don't know if I could go there AGAIN" Nardac because, let's face it, your "Etats d'ame Eric" has become a gay karaoke classic. I won't be able to abandon it etirely until I've seen someone sing "Private Dancer" though.

I want to get Benoit up there to sing Private Dancer. He would bring the house down. But, yes, no more Luna Parker for me. I guess maybe I should learn the lyrics to Les Sucettes if I am ever to do French Karaoke again. I need more than one variete in my variety.

How was the picnic, btw? I got all tied up getting sunstroke in Fontainebleau, then watching Die Hard, which was soooooo awesome. I'll even go and see it again. By Willis, he's BACK!

Ha, picnic was excellent, I really like the Parc Floral, with the jazz drifting across the pond. It was ROASTING though, so we were chugging back water and hiding under trees ;-)

@ Rhino
I thought you were a bal de pompier boy.

Rue du jour for me this year, very, very good, and lots of sexy non-firemen sights on the horizon.

Tiresia, I am, I am, I don't know what happened... one moment we were planning to head over to rue de Sévigné and then suddenly... I'd never thought of going to rue du Jour though, I'll remember that one... :-)
