A Night on Brokeback Mountain
It swept the board!! The Golden Globes "Best Motion Picture - Drama," "Best Director" and "Best Screenplay." And more importantly we're going to see it tonight - ONE FULL DAY before it opens officially in Paris (OK, so we're a bit behind there but hey, that's what you get for living in a hokey country). Click on the pic to go to the official site (note that there is even a "Share your Story" section) and wallow in the loveliness. I may even try and rope in a guest reviewer as a special treat!. Can hardly wait until this evening...

I 'reviewed' it today - I was underwhelmed unlike most others. ):
Will be interested to hear what you think.
Very interesting Nomad. Of course, I went straight across and read yours (luckily no spoilers in there!). I am a touch apprehensive after all the hype, but on the other hand, I cried watching "50 First Dates" on DVD for crissakes - if I can get caught up in a Drew Barrymore movie, imagine what I'll be like after this :))
So Rhino, how was it? I have a bad feeling about this movie, I don't know why. Yesterday, I saw Portuguese Odete and thought I was going to die. If you haven't seen it and if your time is precious, don't go!
In a nutshell, I liked it a lot and would recommend seeing it. AND guess who went to the showing before us? Etienne Daho!! Don't want to say anymore just yet in case my guest reviewer steps up to the plate...
Portuguese Odete? Etienne Daho? You two have an incestuous little circle going on there!
Rhino, glad you enjoyed it and weren't put off by my review! :-)
I had two mildly tearful episodes in the film, one was at the rather contrived (I thought) episode when Ennis visit's Jake's parents, the other when Ennis is visited by his daughter.
Ah, sorry Nomad - it's the Paris factor! re: "Odete" no-one likes a foreign film more than the French so there's been a lot written about this film in the various listings mags etc. And Etienne Daho is a French pop star, big in the 80s, who actually moved to the UK to live for a while. He's cool! Re: BBM, I have to say I had tears running down my cheeks for most of the last 20 minutes and I was accused of "sobbing" (slight exaggeration, I think! :))
Gosh, you get to meet so many stars! Etienne, Kamel, various StarAc' participants... too bad I'm the only one who can truly appreciate your real VIP-ness on this blog! By the way, I have a questions for you who knows everything about showbiz in Paris. Yesterday evening before going to the movies we saw loads of fancy limousines waiting outside the Pompidou Center, looked like there were many big shots in there, any idea what the deal was?
HaHa - Five minutes on the site and you're already destroying my reputation as "stalker to the stars" :)) Luv it!!
How can anyone take someone called 'noodle' seriously?
I'll have one spicey chicken pot noodle please.
I'm a bit nervous to go look there while here in the office...what will jump out at me? Fusilli? :-)
I'll have a look when I get home.
I think I'm going to start flirting with you instead of Rob, Rhino, and mickelino...none of them appear to be spicy
Ouch! :)
Oh dear me, he read that! *blush*
Great! As soon as Noodle appears on this site, nobody flirts with me anymore nor answers any of my questions. ::pout::
Remember we're on Rhino's site and he's going to get really angry like last time if we don't flirt with him or talk about him all the time...
I thought Noodle was mine? I thought this was agreed upon by ALL parties! Except for Noodle of course, but that is just a minor technicality!
mick, what question did you ask? I can't be bothered to go look for it.
rob, stop being so possessive!
