Trafalgar 200

USA and France
Originally uploaded by Today is a good day.

As an Englishman living in France, it obviously hasn't escaped my attention that this year marks the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar :)) Mum went down to watch the International Fleet Review at Gosport yesterday and said some of her work colleagues didn't get home until 2 a.m. because of the traffic:
"Portsmouth Harbour station closed its doors as they said there were too many people on the platforms for it to be safe. There were Park & Ride schemes in action but the buses were caught up in the traffic, so people weren't getting to their cars and when they did it was gridlock."
So almost as scary as the original, then.
